– Daniel 11:32b

Here are your tips for academic excellence:

  • Never miss a class: except for health reasons or personal emergencies do not miss scheduled classes.
  • Take notes during classes: make use of handwritten notes or use note-taking tools like notion.
  • Ask clarifying questions: When you have an ongoing lecture and you seem to be unclear about certain concepts, note them down. Ask during the lecture or wait back to speak with your instructor about it but ensure you get clarity.
  • Review your notes daily: After the day’s work and a bit of rest, review the notes you took in class and revise the concepts taught.
  • Block out time for studying: Based on your study technique and study habit, create time to do a deep study weekly and digest the concepts you learnt. (Expect an article on study habits).
  • Discuss  concepts learnt with friends: Whether it’s clear or unclear, you just could learn something new, gain clarity or help a friend out!
  • Prepare for tests and exams ahead of time: at least 2 weeks before a major test or exam, you should have been actively reviewing the concepts you have learned and testing yourself.
  • Don’t leave out assignments and do it yourself: Don’t pay for cheatsheets or outsource your assignments. Do your research and the put in the work required; you’d learn in the process.
  • Finally brethren, believe in yourself: Excellence is attainable even for you.. yes you!

Some of these tips are applicable outside of your academics.

I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. -Psalm 119:99
