Every man has a dream. Even children dream — of who they might become, what they might do. I bet you have one too — something that’s been brewing inside, a deep desire that burns quietly within your heart. But here’s the thing — while we often feel the weight of these dreams, we may not always know how to achieve them. Sometimes we don’t even have the resources or clarity we think we need. But what if I told you that the possibilities for your dream to become reality can be found in GOD whose Spirit is already on the inside of you.
You’re not here by accident. You were created with purpose — some call it destiny, others call it calling. Either way, there’s a you you were meant to become. And to get there, you need more than motivation. I’ve learned something powerful: our deepest and purest desires are deeply connected to our purpose. And as long our dreams are in alignment with GOD’s purpose for us, we can rest assured that if we submit to GOD, His Holy Spirit will help us; He’s our helper we are not called to lean on our ability, but on God’s. That’s where the Holy Spirit comes in. He doesn’t just help us; He empowers us.
“Then I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will help you and always be with you.”-John 14:16 CEV
What Is Empowerment?
the act or action of empowering someone or something : the granting of the power, right, or authority to perform various acts or duties – Merriam Webster
Empowerment — ability, the divine capacity to produce notable results and make progress in the right direction. This empowerment can manifest as wisdom, skill, strategy, resilience, or even supernatural strength.
The spirit of GOD empowered men and women in Scripture to do extraordinary things:
Joseph interpreted dreams and governed with divine wisdom: “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?” — Genesis 41:38 NKJV
Bezalel was filled with the Spirit for craftsmanship, wisdom, and creativity: “And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.” — Exodus 31:3 NKJV
Gideon, though timid, led Israel by the Spirit’s power: “But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet…” — Judges 6:34 NKJV
Samson performed feats of supernatural strength: “And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart…” — Judges 14:6 NKJV
Daniel and his friends were given knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom — and Daniel had understanding in visions and dreams: Daniel 1:17
Jesus, though fully God, operated by the Spirit’s empowerment:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted…” — Luke 4:18 NKJV
“The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.”— Isaiah 11:2 NKJV
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses…” — Acts 1:8 NLT
That same Spirit lives in you.
How Do We Walk in This Empowerment?
Prayer

Think of prayer as communion, not just communication. It’s how we align with God’s heart and receive insight into His will. He knows your future, your path, and your next step.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” — Psalm 32:8 NIV
How Prayer Empowers:
We find empowerment through prayer because prayer:
- gives access to the mind of God: “
…for we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us…” — Romans 8:26(pray a lot in the spirit)
- Builds our spiritual strength:
“But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” — Jude 1:20 AMP
- Provides direction and clarity:
“You said to me, “I will point out the road that you should follow. I will be your teacher and watch over you.”Psalms 32:8 CEV
- Brings deliverance and peace:
“Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.” – Philippians 4:6-7 CEV

Obedience

Obedience may not always feel easy — especially when God asks you to do something that doesn’t make much sense to you. Truthfully, It’s still always better to trust GOD and follow through with HIS instructions even when we do not understand.
“God is working in you to make you willing and able to obey him.”-Philippians 2:13 CEV
“Obedience is better than sacrifice…” — 1 Samuel 15:22KJV
How Obedience Empowers:
Obeying God leads to:
- Blessings
“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God.”- Deuteronomy 28:2
— Fulfillment of God’s Promises
“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people.”— Exodus 19:5
3. Protection from Unnecessary Pain.
“The way of the transgressor is hard.”— Proverbs 13:15 (KJV)
4. Increase and Prosperity
“ If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” — Isaiah 1:19
“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”— Job 36:11 (KJV)
In conclusion, You need God’s empowerment to come into all GOD has in store for you. I do not believe GOD empowers us to do things HE hasn’t called us to do. Asides everything I said, I believe the HOLY SPIRIT would whisper more specific instructions as you grow in Christ, listen to Him HE’s your truest and wisest teacher. No wonder JESUS called Him our helper – advocate, counsellor, comforter, strengthener ….. The Holy Spirit is the power of GOD on your inside. Allow Him help you and make you into all GOD has called you to be. All the things I have listed above is meant to help you become closer to the Spirit of GOD. Give it time and enjoy the journey with God.
